It's a fun, lightweight little offering

Formula Legends takes an interesting concept but attempts to please too wide an audience. On paper, it sounds like an incredibly compelling idea. Take a trip through the history of some of Formula 1's most iconic eras, reliving defining moments in the history of Formula racing.

However, it never quite delivers the goods. It plays like a very dated arcade offering and getting used to the driving takes a little too long. You'll also need to tweak the controls to suit your play style... but I was left wondering if it was worth the hassle in the end.

In Story Mode you can relive defining moments of Formula racing. Conquer era-based championships, master classic machines, and carve your name into motor sport history.

If this had been undertaken in a more polished, realistic game, then it might have worked. Sadly, we get an arcade game with era-style locations and races. Yes, I know that to achieve authentic settings and driving mechanics would have cost a lot more development time and probably issues with copyright, but nothing about this game feels like a release I'd want to invest much time in.

It's a fun, lightweight little offering which delivers a few unique elements. But when push comes to shove it's a rather run-of-the-mill low budget arcade game.
