Maxime Denuc and Matthieu Gasnier's score for Météors is released via Plaza Mayor Company Ltd. The film follows the up and down fortunes of three friends as they navigate the pitfalls and foolishness of young adulthood...

The music for Météors is very much a product of the present and as such I can see it aging a little too prematurely. The score consists of 13 tracks (47 min, 18 sec) with a good mix of styles from pop songs to ambient electronic themes.

Maxime Denuc and Matthieu Gasnier's score mostly consists of modern, ambient tracks that are designed to generate atmosphere and suspense. For what it is, it works well in the movie to add an extra layer to the narrative, but listened to it in isolation? I'm not overly convinced it works quite so well as a standalone album.

The majority of the artists songs are pretty run-of-the-mill, with very little to get excited about. The exception though, is Hatik's catchy pop offering 'Ma P'Tite Etoile'.

It's an interesting score, but only one that will really appeal to modern, electronic soundtrack collectors.
