Do whatever it takes to repel the invaders and secure your people’s freedom...
Dustwind: Resistance is a turn based combat game that incorporates RPG elements. You are part of a farm community which is trying to stay on step ahead of the ever growing army of zombie invaders and other gangs of humans looking to survive at any cost. The learning curve isn't too steep, but remembering all of the controls is a little cumbersome - especially when you consider that the layout isn't the most intuitive. You start the game with a pretty simple tutorial that helps guide you through the basics. But you'll learn most of the game's mechanics once you start playing the game properly. The story is engaging enough to keep you returning and there's enough variety to ensure that you don't get bored too quickly. You start alone and quickly get both your friend and pet dog to tag along. As you play through the story you'll soon add more people to your band. Combat allows you to go in all guns blazing, or use your head by employing stealthy tactics. In the early stages it can feel like you get easily overwhelmed. Most of this, though, is down to panicking because you haven't fully mastered the controls. It's a fun little game, with a relatively fair price point. For fans of the genre, you'll find this offers quite a lot to engage with. 7 Nick Smithson
