Seeking a change in your life, you saw an offer you couldn't refuse; an entire planet at a bargain price. An old agrarian rock that's been abandoned for years in an outlying solar system. So with little more than your worn out ship and your personal assistance droid, you decide to embark on a new phase of your life in a lost corner of the galaxy. Cut weeds, clear paths, reclaim fields and fix what the passing of time has destroyed, turn an old agrarian rock into a thriving homestead...

It comprises farming, crafting and exploration

Farlands is game that you'll either want to totally immerse yourself in, or you'll find it too repetitive and grindy to make you want to keep progressing. Personally, I found it to be a relaxing, quirky little game that borrows elements from many other games. It comprises farming, crafting and exploration with a healthy sense of humour.

You'll soon get to grips with the farming and crafting elements and should you get bored, you can jump in your ship and explore another planet. Although your ship has seen better days, it will help you to move between the different planets in the system, explore them, collect resources and use them to improve your farm, your tools and your ship.

Engage with the handful of people who still live on the planets of the solar system, learn their stories and the reasons why they still live in such a remote part of the galaxy. Save and restore the old glory of the solar system! A whole planet at a bargain price? Maybe things won't be as simple as they seemed, and that planet's low price had a reason to be.

Whilst graphically, it's nothing to write home about, Farlands does deliver a strong and enjoyable slice of entertainment. It's one of those games you'll want to return to time and time again.
