Amidst the chaos of war, the only thing you can count on is
the friend by your side. Few knew this better than Obi-Wan
Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, once Master and Padawan, now
two Jedi Knights fighting side by side in the seemingly endless
struggle to bring the Separatist leaders to justice and restore
peace to the galaxy...
After
the dry affair that was Volume
6 in this series, Volume 7 makes a spectacular
return to form. When They Were Brothers is a collection
of stories that see Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker looking
out for each other.
The
art work is consistent throughout this collection - while
there are different artists, the style doesn't really change
much. In fact, you could be forgiven for thinking that the
same artist worked throughout this graphic novel. I also thought
that the art for the strip was of much better quality than
that used for the cover. The cover looks a little strange
- Kenobi's face looks odd and his right leg has a couple of
very peculiar bends in it.
The
story lines are entertaining, if a little on the shallow side.
The missions are not the important aspect here, the relationship
between Kenobi and Skywalker takes centre stage. So, I suppose
whether you will enjoy this collection comes down to whether
or not you are a fan of the Kenobi/Skywalker relationship.
If,
like me, you are, then you'll find this to be a riveting read.
