University student Sophie Bangs has hidden the immense power of Promethea deep inside her, hiding from government agents, but now she must once more release that power, and bring Armageddon to friends, foes and the world...

I know I've moaned about Promethea before, but I thought I'd give it another chance. The amazing thing was that for the first half of this collection I was seriously doubting why I had ever disliked this series. There was a plot, some cameo appearances by Tom Strong and his friends (Cobweb, Jack B. Quick, Splash Brannigan etc) and everything seemed to be swimming along nicely.

The fact that the rather dull Sophie takes a back seat for most of this collection may also be why it seems so more interesting. But it's not long before Promethea is unleashed, along with pages of bizarre and incomprehensible nonsense. I really did feel as though I'd just walked in on a fine art student's degree piece - I felt nauseous.

J.H. Williams's art is breathtaking, sadly Alan Moore's writing leaves a lot to be desired. I'm sorry I just didn't get it. And to be honest, I'm not sure I want to.
