Many Jedi have been gunned down by their own clone troops.
Those lucky or skilful enough to survive Order 66 now find
themselves faced with the darkest of questions. Is it too
late to save the Republic they swore to defend? Some Jedi
will make valiant last stands. Others will seek asylum in
the shadows of the underworld, turning their backs on a galaxy
that has betrayed them. Still others will try to carry on,
attempting to bring freedom to the oppressed. And a resolute
few will band together to topple Sith rule, setting a trap
for the Emperor's new enforcer - Darth Vader...
                  Endgame
                    is
the ninth collection in the Clone Wars series of graphic
novels. The three stories contained in this volume follow
events that unfold at the same time, or soon after, the action
in the Revenge of the Sith movie.
                  The
first tale, Hidden Enemy, takes place concurrently
with the events in Revenge of the Sith. This, takes
up the lion's share of this collection, and follows Jedi Master
Vos as he tries to come to terms with the fact that the Jedi
have been scattered across the galaxy. There is also a welcome
appearance by Vilmarh Grahrk (Villie), the demonic looking
Devaronian who thinks quite a lot of himself, as well as several
other familiar faces from the Star Wars universe.
                  Next
up is Into the Unknown, which takes place two days
after the events in Revenge of the Sith. This opens
on the planet Toola. It follows several Jedi knights, including
Dass Jennir, as they try to pick up what remains of their
kind. In order to defeat the Sith they must make alliances
in the most unlikely of places.
                  The
finale story, and personally my favourite, is Purge.
This is set one month after Revenge of the Sith and
sees Darth Vader being lured into a trap by a group of Jedi.
Even Vader couldn't possibly expect to win against such odds.
It's not spoiling anything to reveal that he does overcome
the odds. And it also goes some way to explaining how the
galaxy came to tremble at the mention of his name.
                  Another
fantastic collection of engaging tales from a series that
is an almost 100% guarantee of quality stories.
