Henry James, the newest exterminator at Bug-Bee-Gone, sees the job as a means to cleanse the sins of his dark past. But standing between him and redemption are his careerist girlfriend, sociopathic partner, the dysfunctional freaks he calls co-workers and a weirdly ominous locked box that could hold the key to an ancient mystery. Henry and his "bug brothers" prowl the barrios and bungalows of Los Angeles, where the line between order and chaos is at its thinnest - and where Henry learns that humans may be the true pests, and bugs the real exterminators...

Bug Brothers is the first volume in The Exterminators series. Henry James has just got out of prison and his mother's new boyfriend is keen to help him turn over a new leaf. So, in his bid to save this wayward soul, Nils employs James as a pest controller in his Bug-Bee-Gone pest control business.

However, if one thing is likely to push James back into the prison system it's working with the weird bunch that Nils has on his payroll. There's Stretch (a cross between Roy Rogers and the Dalai Lama); Kevin (who believes that the end of the world is nigh and that bugs will be the cause of it); and AJ (who by everyone's account is by far the most repulsive little man on the planet).

When Nils's researcher, the highly intelligent but incredibly secretive Saloth, find out that the bug killer Bug-Bee-Gone is using is actually doing something more than killing it's intended target, a time bomb starts to tick down. Could it be that Kevin's biggest fears are coming true?

Oh, and what on earth has a mysterious looking box with a number of keyholes got to do with all of this? Actually, that's one mystery that isn't fully examined here, but will no doubt be an ongoing plot in the future.

Bug Brothers is well worth picking up - there's nothing else on the market quite like it!
