Presented by the legendary Jim Bowen and voiced by Tony Green,
Classic Bullseye brings the magic of the original studio
game show to life. With links, questions, scores, commentary
and prizes, this DVD game perfectly recaptures the style of
the well-loved '80s show - fun for all the family...
                  The
                    Classic Bullseye
interactive DVD game is a brave attempt to bring the excitement
(?!!?) of the '80s TV show into your living room once again.
However, this time around instead of simply watching you get
the chance to compete against friends and family to see who
can win the most prizes (more of that later).
                  The
DVD follows the format of the original game show. Jim Bowen
has been dragged out of the ITV archives to bring all new
questions and commentary to this release. Between 1-8 players
can compete in this interactive DVD. You can either play alone,
or you can play as 1-4 teams of two players (a dart player
                    and non-dart player).
                  There
are instructions on the DVD in case your memory is a little
rusty on how to play this classic quiz show, and you can even
practice your dart throwing before you compete. A word of
warning though. The dart throwing section of the game is a
little too easy to master. In fact when we played it everyone
kept getting treble 20 without breaking a sweat. Unfortunately
this also meant that we had to keep playing one round because
everyone was getting the same score. In the end we rectified
the situation by closing our eyes for that section and throwing
the dart blind - not really ideal.
                  While
the prizes on offer are not for real, the producers of this
DVD have really brought the thrill of competing in the original
show by offering very archaic looking prizes (including the
latest in home computing - a BBC model B. Remember those?).
This adds to the overall tongue in cheek feel that the producers
have gone for with this release and there is some nostalgic
value to be had from this section of the game.
                  If
the dart throwing segments had been made a little more difficult,
then this would have been a much better game. For a party
or family gathering, this is a pretty enjoyable game. However,
due to the slow load times of each DVD section, it's unlikely
that you'll play this more than a few times.
