Twenty years have passed since the Great Crystal War, when
the forces of darkness gathered and evil threatened the peaceful
kingdoms of Vana'diel. An alliance was formed to rid Vana'diel
of the evil but after a narrow victory, the threat has returned.
As the beastmen organise their forces and make their advance
towards the nations of San d'Oria, Windurst, and Bastok, a
desperate call goes out to adventurers around the globe for
                    help...
                  In
Final Fantasy XI Online, you start your journey into
the world of Vana'diel by creating a customised character
from a host of physical attributes and jobs. Experience missions,
quests, and boss battles by yourself or join up with other
party members to form powerful alliances as you explore the
vast environments that make up Vana'diel.
                  Final
Fantasy XI is the first ever massively multiplayer online
role-playing game (MMORPG) for Microsoft's Xbox 360, according
to the press release we received with the game. This release
includes the original Final Fantasy XI game and three
additional expansion packs - Rise of the Zilart, Chain
of Promathia and the latest expansion pack release, Treasures
                    of Aht Urhgan.

                  At
the end of the day though, this game is only really going
to appeal to Final Fantasy fans - the majority of which
will already own this game for another console. Even the most
serious of fans can't argue that this is nothing more than
a repackaged four year old game - however good it is.
