The first video game based on the hugely popular
Family Guy TV show features the same outrageous humour all the fans know and love. Play as Stewie and match wits against his arch-nemesis Bertram as they vie to take over the world. Take control of Peter and fight to stop Mr Belvedere from also taking over the world. Slip on a collar and down a martini as Brian and attempt to sneak out of prison... so you can take over the world...

The Family Guy video game doesn't, I'm sorry to say, live up to expectations. That's hardly surprising really. How can you take all the fun and whit of the TV series and turn it into a video game? Short answer - you can't, apparently.

The game producers very almost pull off the humour of the show, but come up a little too short. And thank goodness they've used the cast from the TV show to lend their vocal talents. The game is split into three very different styles of play. As Stewie you must run around blasting everything in sight and using your mind control, as Peter you have to beat up anything that moves, and as Brian you have to sneak past police officers. Only the Stewie missions provided any fun for more than 2 seconds - but don't get carried away here, these sections are still way below par for most games.

Yes, some of the gags are just as funny as the TV series, but to be honest you'll soon find yourself putting down the controller and reaching for a DVD box set.

Regardless of the fact this is on sale for under £20 it's just not worth the money. Fun for about 20 minutes. It feels like a mini-game to something much bigger. This is so not freakin' sweet.
