Television's intense and suspenseful drama, 24 is a
heady mixture of personal and political intrigue, thrilling
chases and shoot-outs. Season three and four see 24
at its grittiest yet: Jack must battle his own demons while
combating the spread of a deadly virus' and eighteen months
later he's back in the fray as CTU hunts a terrorist cell
intent on causing chaos across America... This second official
companion goes behind the scenes of 24, giving exclusive
insights into the making of the acclaimed show...
24:
The Official Companion - Seasons 3 & 4 follows
on from Titan's previous
volume which covered Seasons 1 and 2.
As
I mentioned in my review of the earlier volume, thumbs up
to Titan for producing a book that fans of the show will be
proud to own... from a aesthetics point. Yes, it looks great
- full of glossy colour pages. But, thumbs down for the actual
textual content. Again, there is nothing here that most fans
won't be able to find after a few minutes search of the Internet.
There's
an interview with Kiefer
Sutherland; brief character profiles for 12 of
the show's most important characters; a break down of each
episode (or hour); and short features on various aspects of
the show, which are squeezed into the episode pages and...
and er... that's your lot, I'm afraid.
It's
not that this is poor, some of the mini features are interesting
(like the interview with Sarah
Clarke on her character's departure from the show),
it's just that it is a little too dry. Only die-hard 24
fanatics will want to add this to their collection.
