Joss Whedon's cult sci-fi Western series Firefly may have
had a curtailed existence on TV, but it has since become a
phenomenon on DVD, spawning the hit movie Serenity and inspiring
legions of dedicated fans, whose numbers are still growing
today. This, the first of two lavishly illustrated official
companions, is a must, whether you're already a loyal Browncoat,
                    or just discovering the 'Verse...

Firefly: The Official Companion - Volume Two contains
a further 210 full colour glossy pages and is a must own collection
                    for Firefly/Serenity
                    fans.
                  I
have to say that I'm impressed that a show that was cancelled
without even having a full season under its belt has managed
to have a two volume guide book series. Okay, there's the
film too, but how many other shows that were killed off before
they were allowed to flourish do you know that have managed
to attract such a huge fan base?
                  As
                    with Volume
One in this collection, Titan Books have really
laid out the red carpet for fans. This volume is packed to
bursting with interviews, features and the reprinting of scripts
                    - basically there's something here for everyone. While the
majority of this book is basically a script book, reprinting
scripts from various episodes, it's not your usual dry affair.
                  There's
even a section on some of the ideas that never made it to
the screen - which fans will no doubt lap up with enthusiasm.
Sure, there's probably very little information in these pages
that fans don't already know, but the end result is another
beautifully presented coffee table edition that will find
pride of place in all fan's homes.
                  If
only all companion books were as well thought through as this.
