In the aftermath of the Infinite Crisis, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman vanished for a year - now this incredible new series reveals what happened while they were away. Self-serving 'hero' Booster Gold is grabbing headlines; Steel is investigating Lex Luthor's latest masterplan; former cop Renee Montoya is probing the mysteries of The Question; Elongated Man is searching for a way to bring back his wife; and Black Adam is becoming fatally proactive. Meanwhile, somewhere in space, Animal Man, Starfire and Adam Strange discover a terrifying new threat...

Produced weekly for 52 weeks to fill in the year between Infinite Crisis and One Year Later, this groundbreaking 'real-time' series is finally being issued in a four part graphic novel collection. This series is written by some of the world's top writers, including Greg Rucka, Mark Waid, Geoff Johns and Grant Morrison.

Highlights for me in this collection include Booster Gold's selfish acts, as well as the fact he pays an out of work actor to pretend to be a new supervillan, so that he can swoop in and save the day; the Elongated Man facing a difficult dilemma - just what do you do when you are given the chance to make your greatest wish come true?; Steel having to deal with a rebellious daughter - superhero style; and Montoya taking a freelance job from a man whose face she has never seen - but then nor has anyone else.

There's plenty of additional content in this collection including notes on various weeks and the inclusion of rough sketches throughout. Thankfully, to ensure that nothing is spoiled for the readers, the rough art work is only included on pages after the finished artwork has been occurred in the story.

To be perfectly honest, anyone who enjoyed Infinite Crisis will find this an essential purchase - as will anyone who enjoys superhero tales. With kick ass action throughout, this is one of the few must own collections currently on the market.
