In the aftermath of the Infinite Crisis, and their subsequent
year long absence from the world, Superman, Wonder Woman and
Batman have returned with renewed purpose - and ready to form
an all-new team of Earth's mightiest heroes. It's decision
time, as the world's three greatest heroes debate who will
form the new Justice League. Meanwhile, the Red Tornado regains
his humanity as Solomon Grundy attempts to regain his soul;
and a terrifying new threat to the world is revealed - one
that may destroy the new Justice League before they even get
started...
After
the darkest hour of the DC Universe, Superman, Batman and
Wonder Woman meet to once again choose who among Earth's greatest
heroes will comprise the new Justice League of America. But
while they meet in secret to decide the fate of the team,
dark forces move against their friends and allies.
A
mysterious organisation has helped the android Justice Leaguer
known as Red Tornado to transfer his consciousness into the
human body he's always coveted. But their motives may not
have Red Tornado's best interests in mind. Instead, this is
only the first step in a sinister conspiracy of super-villains.
To
save their friend and the world, the Justice League of America
will have to rise again, better than ever before. But who
will answer the call?
New
York Times best-selling author Brad Meltzer redefines the
JLA for a new generation in this hardcover collecting the
first six issues of the all-new Justice League of America
series.
There
are some great touches in this collection. I particularly
loved the fact that Superman and Wonder Woman keep something
(I won't spoil what though) from Batman when they are picking
the future members of the JLA. The fact they discuss this
behind his back brings back the mistrust issues that I thought
had been put behind us after the events in Infinite Crisis.
Thankfully, it seems, this was just the start of the problem.
