She is a second-year high school student with a single all-consuming
question: will the boy she likes ever really notice her? He
is the school's most notorious juvenile delinquent and he's
suddenly come to a shocking realisation: he's got a huge crush,
and now he must tell her how he feels. Life-changing obsessions,
colossal foul-ups, grand schemes, deep-seated anxieties, and
raging hormones - School Rumble portrays high school
                    as over-the-top comedy...
                  The
love of Harima Kenji's life has made it clear that she will
not return his feelings. Broken-hearted, Harima decides to
run away and become a fisherman, sailing Japan's high seas.
Once aboard, however, Harima finds himself up against mean
spirited shipmates and a brutal captain who is almost too
muscle-bound to be real. Can Harima measure up and just what
is the captain's dark secret which he wants to keep hidden
                    from his crew?
                  After
a couple of rather below par releases, Jin Kobayashi is back
on track with the seventh collection in the School Rumble
series. Love is a dangerous thing and the tangled web that's
being weaved is getting worse for poor old Harima. Tenma Tsukamoto
still doesn't realise that Harima is in love her and is convinced
that he has fallen for a mystery girl. She is delighted that
her friend has found love, but Harima takes this to be a sure
sign that she has no romantic feelings for him.
                  However,
when Tenma's younger sister starts helping Harima with a top
secret project, Tenma believes that this is the girl he has
feelings for. She is a little shocked, but also pleased for
them both. But, the more Harima tries to explain they are
just friends, the more it appears that they are really an
                    item.
                  This
collection has quite a few short stories, meaning that you
don't feel that you have to read this in one sitting. The
art work and writing are back to Kobayashi's high standard,
making this a hard volume to dislike.
