The entire Jackass cast have reunited four years after the
release of the original movie, for more mad stunts and crazy
extreme action in Jackass Number Two The Movie - Uncut.
Raising the bar of hilarity by lowering the bar of taste is
the name of the game. Featuring stunts that were far too outrageous
for the cinema and shows how far people will go to entertain...
                  For
years my girlfriend would tell me that she used to get this
huge wave of depression sweep over her if she was ever forced
to watch Cilla Black's Blind Date. I never understood
what she meant until I watched this movie.
                  If
the idea of watching grown men vomiting and defecating on
camera gets you all giggly, then you'll love Jackass: Number
Two The Movie - Uncut. Personally I found the whole experience
a little too puerile, but then I don't really fit into the
target audience of fans. Actually, having said that, the only
people who are really going to get a huge blast out of this
are those that are too young to watch it (teenagers aged 15-17)
everyone else should have grown out of this sort of thing.
                  I
detest TV shows like You've been Framed. They speak
to the lowest of the low. Ha! Ha! Someone fell over! Isn't
that hilarious? In reality, that's all Jackass is -
a bunch of £200 video clip winners. The sad thing is
that they orchestrate these spills instead of turning in genuine
mistakes. In my eyes, that makes these stunts even more pathetic
than people who send in clips of their kids. Performing crazy
stunts - like defecating on camera - stinks to high heaven
of someone who has just bought a camcorder and wants to show
off. And that's what you get really for the duration of this
movie - a bunch of immature guys showing off.
                  There
were some gems in amongst the rubbish. Indoor skiing; bad
granddad; medicine ball dodge ball in the dark; Wee Man's
magic trick; big tire race; and big red rocket all raised
a smile. However Terror Taxi was probably the highlight for
me. Ignoring the pubic hair side of it, the fact that the
poor guy was being set up by his own friends was pretty amusing.
It's gags like this that make Jackass worth viewing
                    - just ignore all the other crap (of which there is plenty).
                  You
can pretty much guarantee that the majority of these stunts
are faked. Watching the extras this is pretty much obvious,
as little things are let slip which hint that the guys knew
what was happening on some of the surprise stunts. If this
is the case for the majority of the gags, then hats off to
Knoxville and his crew for making Jackasses out of the paying
                    audience.

                  But
the real low point for me was the fact that minor celebrities
had been asked to appear yet ended up with the briefest of
screen time. How arrogant is that? In some instances their
only appearance is in the end credits. Okay, these are hardly
"a"-listers, but you'd think that they'd try and
include a little more of the material of Luke Wilson, Mike
Judge, Spike Jonze, Tony Hawks and Matt Hoffman. But, it would
appear that Knoxville and his cronies didn't want them taking
up valuable air time when the show is really all about them
getting as much camera time as possible.
                  Watching
the credits, I was surprised to see that there was a director
                    - which made me laugh. You don't need a director. Give these
clowns a camera and away they go. Apparently he's called Jeff
Tremaine, but don't ask me what he did - I've no idea.
                  There
are tons of extras here. These include The Making of Jackass
Number Two (30 min featurette); Uncut Additional Segments
(6 mins); Deleted Scenes (16 mins); Additional
Segments (27:30 mins - shame they left the fake pigeon
eating scene out of the finished movie); Outtakes (8
                    mins); Karazy Music Video; Theatrical Trailer;
Uncut VMA Spots and a photo gallery.

A lot of the deleted scenes repeated the same theme - the
old man's testicles sketches got very old, very quickly -
but it was obvious why most of it was cut from the final movie.
The audio commentary doesn't really add much either - just
a bunch of drunk lads in a room talking rubbish.
                  I'm
afraid that I'm just too old and cynical to find any real
reason to recommend that anyone rushes out and buys this release.
Hopefully this will be the last Jackass movie. There
are a few great moments, but probably not enough to warrant
                    sitting through the whole movie.
