Nine
months have passed since Zeon forces invaded the Earth. At
the brink of annihilation, the Earth Federation Forces are
mobilising to launch a massive counter assault against the
occupying forces. Now, it is time to choose your side. Join
the Federation Army to repel the invaders from the Earth or
pledge your alliance to Zeon and claim the Earth...
There's
no disputing the fact that Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in
Sight is graphically one of the most impressive launch
title for the PlayStation 3. But looks aren't everything and
once you scratch the surface a nightmare of a rushed game
greets you.
Thrown
into a futuristic Earth devastated by the invasion of the
Zeon forces, you find themselves caught in the crossfire between
the Earth Federation and Zeon forces nine months into the
conflict. At the brink of annihilation, the Earth Federation
Forces are mobilising to launch a massive counter assault
against the occupying forces. Call for arms have been made
and you have the option of either joining the Federation Army
to repel the invaders from the Earth or pledge your alliance
to Zeon to do your part in helping to claim Earth on behalf
of the alien invaders.
By
piloting Mobile Suits, ultimate mechanised weapons of the
future taken straight from the Gundam Universe, it
is possible to suit up and command fellow battalion Mobile
Suits in the fight to change the tides of the war. Teamwork
and leadership are crucial in ascertaining enemy weaknesses
and locating strategic enemy facilities on the battlefield.
New commanders have access to a variety of Mobile Suits available
for enlistment into their battalion and more suits will open
up as you progress further in the game and complete objectives
in the war effort.
Mobile
Suit Gundam: Target in Sight has to be about the worst
launch title I've played yet for Sony's PlayStation 3 - possibly
even the worst launch title of any console to date. The controls
are slow to respond, the frame rate is jerky and the whole
experience left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth.
This
game is too rushed and too poor to warrant anyone, other than
die-hard Gundam fans going anywhere near this - especially
with a £50 price tag. This
is not the game you'll be sticking on to show your mates how
cool the new PS3 is.
