Richard Briers, Felicity Kendal, Paul Eddington and Penelope Keith star in four more original BBC television episodes of the much-loved classic sitcom that feature Surbiton's most famous residents, mismatched next-door neighbours whose friendship is constantly being tested to the limits... The Last Posh Frock (originally broadcast on 22 October 1976): When a passing stranger mistakes Barbara for a boy, it's the last straw: she is determined to show Tom she is all-woman, with the help of her last posh frock. Away From it All (originally broadcast on 10 April 1977): Jerry and Margo, seeing their neighbours need a break, suggest that Tom and Barbara take a holiday. But who will look after the animals? Why, the Leadbetters of course... The Green Door (originally broadcast on 17 April 1977): What is Margo up to? Tom and Barbara discover she hasn't been riding at her pony club in weeks and is seen entering an unmarked door in town instead. Who is Margo meeting behind the green door? Our Speaker Today (originally broadcast 24 April 1977): Margo has arranged a special dinner, but when her speaker pulls out at the last minute, she turns to Barbara for help. Surprisingly, Barbara's lecture goes down a storm, especially with a certain Lady Truscott. Penelope Keith provides the occasional narration for the visual gags, which obviously don't translate onto audio. While, obviously, a DVD with these episodes would be more enjoyable, this audio release is the perfect way to relax at home or in the car. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online |
