Captain Kirk was always known to have a way with women and more importantly having his way with women. So now you can be like the good Captain with John “Bones” Rodriguez’s Captain Kirk’s Guide to Women...

It’s hard to know what to make of this small, eighty-five page paperback. Released in February it’s a little late in the day to be marketed as a Christmas stocking filler, and it’s not quite the right thing for Valentine's Day. It's a light-hearted self-help book about dating, using Kirk’s many exploits with the fairer sex, though the book ignores the women who appeared in the films.

The book sports lots of colour pictures and quotes from the program. Each section which details an individual female has notes on the encounter and the lessons that can be taken. The book is structured like a mission, though this is a mission in love. To help you on your mission there are four lessons: Always say yes; Awaken her passion; Care for your eyes; and Increase her self-esteem.

Personally I think that at nearly eight quid this book is overpriced and a little pointless. Look for it in a bargain bin near you soon.
