Alice, now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Olivera and L.J., along with new survivors Claire Redfield, K-Mart and Nurse Betty, to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive... Resident Evil: Extinction is the third instalment in the movie franchise, based on the survival horror video games from Capcom. The action picks up where the last film left off and finds our heroes drifting in a desolate world populated by blood-crazed zombies. Despite the destruction of Raccoon City, the T-Virus has not been contained. Instead it has spread like wildfire across America, affecting every living entity it comes into contact with. For five years the virus has gone unchecked, with only small pockets of humans surviving - if you can call it that. To stay one step ahead of the expanding population of undead, these humans travel in conveys from town to town looting fuel and food wherever they find it. Sadly, the Umbrella Corporation has not learned from any of its past mistakes, and the leader of one facility is determined to take the undead and create a super race of zombies who are capable of cognitive reasoning. The whole project was designed to give the undead some of their humanity back but, unsurprisingly, nothing goes to plan. What the scientists end up creating is a super zombie who is faster, meaner and more intelligent. All in all this new race looks set to wipe out mankind for good. Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element, Ultraviolet) reprises her role as Alice, the genetically altered zombie killer who continues her fight against the T-Virus and the evil Umbrella Corporation. This time she is aided and abetted by a number of surviving humans including a new character who fans of the games will instantly recognise - Claire Redfield, played by Ali Larter (Heroes, Final Destination). Extras include Deleted Scenes (8 min 35 sec featurette that includes a number of deleted scenes - most notably the capture and transformation of the super zombie); Beyond Raccoon City: Unearthing Resident Evil: Extinction (31 min behind the scenes featurette that can be played as one feature or broken down into smaller mini-featurettes); Resident Evil Degeneration - Sneak Peak (1 min trailer of the in production animated movie); and Trailers - which includes the Resident Evil 5 game trailer. A mindless, fun movie, which is entertaining for the duration - although I doubt you'll watch it more than once. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
