After a nearly fifteen year hiatus since his last studio album Clear, Tim Simenon returns with a braver and more direct album. The electronic side of house is referenced here rather than the soulful and a whole host of guest names have been rafted in such as Mark Lanegan, Fujiya and Miyagi and Richard Thair, creating an alternative and angular sound. Thisis a modern and dynamic dance record which includes the single 'So Special' featuring Paul Conboy...

Future Chaos is the fourth studio album from Bomb The Bass and has taken almost fifteen years to materialise. But was the wait worthwhile? And who on earth will it appeal to?

We only received the first disc for review, so can't comment on the contents of the second disc - which is mainly remixes - but general impressions are positive.

In truth this album seems to be aimed more at those that once danced to Bomb The Bass's tracks in the '90s, when the band was at the height of its fame. Now, sitting in front of a roaring log fire, wearing comfortable slippers and pipe in hand, these old timers (myself included) can slowly rock themselves to sleep as they listen to a more mellow sound from the source they thought long since dead.

'Butterfingers' is easily the stand out track on the album - that's not to say that the others don't have their merits, it's just that it's the one track that will bounce around the inside of your skull for a while.

The track include:

Disc 1
Smog
Butterfingers
Old John
Burn The Bunker
So Special
No Bones
Black River
Hold Me Up
Fuzzbox

Disc 2
Butterfingers (Adam Sky Ravebummer Mix)
Butterfingers (Dan Akroyd Mix By Various)
Old John (Future Funk Squad's 'Jonboy' Remix)
Burn The Bunker (Toob's WHATGOESONINHEMSBYSTAYSINHEMSBY Mix)
So Special (Specialized By Michael Fakesch)
So Special (Toob's Special Special Mix)
Black River (Gui Borrato Remix)
Star (Bonus Track)

Whether or not this will appeal to a new generation is questionable, but those that danced to Bomb the Bass back in the '90s will find this a mellow and interesting diversion.
