Backdraft (break beat duo, Paul Chadwick and Karrie Price) have spent the last twelve months working hard on their forthcoming album We Know Where You Live. 'Rock the Mic' is the duo's first single taken from the album, which will be released in 2009. Hailing from Manchester Chadwick and Price have been catering for the global dance-floor for almost a decade, and have been responsible for hits including 'Labrat', which went on to become one of the highest selling singles of Passenger Record's catalogue. 'Rock The Mic', sees Backdraft team up with The Ragga Twins to produce a single with a catchy, call and response chorus interspersed with some vocal anarchy that will twist around in your head long after you have returned from the club. The second track, 'Pole Dancer', kicks off with an impressive, and pretty subtle sampled call of "Backdraft" which is interwoven with a solid drum beat and hardcore samples that'll make it hard for anyone not to want to get up and dance. The two tracks, while very different in style and pace, complete each other perfectly. For those that want to continue dancing after the clubs have turfed out... this will do the trick. 7 Pete Boomer |
