German composer Wolfram de Marco, whose previous film credits include arranging and orchestrating scores such as Poseidon, Constantine and Catwoman, has composed a dark and intense orchestral score for Erik van Looy's Loft. Performed by the London Metropolitan Orchestra, the music evokes the darkness and sensual mystery of Loft... Loft is a film about five married men who share a secret: a spacious loft, which they each use to romance their mistresses. But when the body of a murdered woman is found in the loft, the owners start to suspect that one of them is the murderer - as they are the only ones with access to the premises. The soundtrack gets off to the right start with the title track 'Loft' which evokes suspense and excitement. Other notable tracks include the heart pumping 'Lies', 'Casino' and 'Letter'; the haunting 'Breakdown', 'Revenge' and 'End'; and the beautiful 'Traitor' and 'Body'. This score is beautifully orchestrated and there's a style here to suit every mood - the resulting collection has something for everyone's tastes. Lock yourself away in your loft, so you won't be disturbed, and soak up de Marco's beautiful work. 9 Pete Boomer |
