The sixties seem to be having somewhat of a renaissance with Amy Winehouse and Duffy. Hot on these retro feet comes Clinic, a band happier steeping themselves in the hothouse of east coast Happenings with their new single 'Tomorrow', from their fifth album Do It and the planned 'Planetarium of the Soul' Tour/Happening. The tour starts on 24 November 2008 and sees the band collaborating with animator Clemens Habicht to present a fusion of music and animation - a veritable psychedelic light and sound show.

In truth such influences were never far from the indie scene, which is never happier that when its fusing different musical elements to create new experiences.

'Tomorrow' wears its indie credentials on its lapel, with its fusion of Velvet Underground twangy guitar, whaling mouth organ and the repetitive vocal track, which is presented more as a mantra than a song. The whole thing ends in an intense, almost threatening, crescendo.

'Tomorrow DFA Remix' adds a few more layers and mellows that whole thing down with a fat bass sound, more funky than before. The remix does loose some of the edge of the original, but is likely to be more audience friendly.

'Hijack', and we’re in that land of sixties drug influenced music; the sort of track where you’re never sure if you should feel relaxed of anxious.

Overall, it is a good single, though I would imagine far more powerful as part of the Happening.
