into one novel is sheer genius and it works so well too. The
original books (Infection, Vectors, Red Sector, Quarantine,
Double or Nothing and The First Virtue) work well
as a collection.
Infection
sees Deanna Troi's life endangered by a mysterious plague;
Vectors is set on the Cardassian space station known
as Terok Nor where Dr. Pulaski is struggling to heal
the planet Bajor; Red Sector sees an elderly Dr. McCoy
reunited with Ambassador Spock in order to save the Romulan
royal family; Quarantine sees lieutenant Thomas Riker
joining forces with the Maquis in order to rescue a world
in peril; Double or Nothing follows Jean-Luc Picard
and the captain of the Starship Excalibur as they track
the deadly contagion to its source; and finally The First
Virtue is set years before Picard takes command of the
Enterprise in a time when he must prevent a war that
could unravel the universe.

riveting read from start to finish that will only be dismissed
