On the frozen shores of Sweden, a freak lightning storm reveals
the skeleton of a giant man, his bony fist tightly gripping
the shaft of an ancient iron hammer. It isn't every day that
the remains of a Norse god and his war hammer appear on a
beach, and the occult detective known as Hellboy knows that
whatever is coming next won't be pleasant...
                  The
Bones of Giants is the second Christopher Golden penned
Hellboy novel and to be quite honest I found it too
slow moving. Turning each page was a real effort and that
is not what Hellboy should be all about.
                  Sadly,
I felt that there was only just enough of a plot here to warrant
a short story. And to stretch this out to over 200 pages is
criminal. If you really can't wait for Mike Mignola to continue
his Hellboy illustrated series, then you might be better
of purchasing the Hellboy short story collection Odd
Jobs. At least that is palatable.
                  Not
                    really worth entertaining.
