Angel and Co are enjoying a rare moment of relaxation at the karaoke bar Caritas when a load explosion draws the gang - and the rest of the bar's patrons - outside. A building across the way is on fire, but the conflagration is nothing more than a diversionary tactic to distract people from a drive-by shooting. When the smoke clears, Fred is missing. It's obvious she has been kidnapped, so Angel, Lorne, Cordy, Wes, and Gunn set about questioning everyone within the immediate radius. At least 10 demons were direct eyewitnesses. One problem though, each tells a different story of what he, she or it saw. It could have been gang warfare, monster style, or Fred could have wondered home without saying goodbye. One thing quickly becomes clear - demons don't make for the most reliable sources...

Sanctuary gets a lot better than you might expect. Its still not the most gripping of tales, however its definitely worth a read and will give you a bit of a chuckle.

The story gets deeper and deeper as the guys all split off trying to find out who kidnapped Fred, and why, but you get each gang members quirky traits to lighten the tale.

Poor old Lorne gets stuck trying to interrogate each of his demon customers at the bar while a still friendly Gunn and Wes do their normal humorous bickering and Cordy continues to come out with her great one liners. Really, 'The Cordy Show' should become a reality!

Of course there is a happy ending and the guys get to save Fred, kill the baddies and all get back to the bar before the sun comes up. A nice little tale, with some great comic lines. It gets extra points for being the lightest of the Angel tales to date.
