                    The
                    Official companion to X-2
                    takes
an exclusive look into the preparation and production of the
movie. Illustrated with 300 full-colour images, the book showcases
movie stills; concept drawings; set designs and photos; costume
                    sketches; make-up tests stills; storyboards for several sequences;
and sections on 11 of the characters...
                  Now,
this is more like it. Titan have pulled out all the stops
(and added a few more) to publish one of the best movie tie-in
publications I have ever seen. Not only is it crammed full
of great photography and artwork, but the whole publication
oozes class. We are not just talking quality glossy pages,
we are talking top of the range, highest grade paper stock.
                  The
Art of X2 is a must buy for X-Men fans. If you
are a really big fan, then I strongly advise pushing the boat
out and buying the deluxe version - it sure will look great
stuck on your coffee table. Besides, a book like this needs
to be shown off in it's hardback version (not that that detracts
from the fantastic job done on the softcover version).
                  And
thankfully, to entice you to spend the extra money, Titan
also provide a lot more in the hardback version. There are
a staggering 96 additional pages that include the complete
shooting script, a double gatefold featuring Nightcrawler
and a 16-page section on the first X-Men movie.
                  One
slight moan was that while this is a UK book Titan didn't
bother to go through and change the American spellings. Even
the back cover, which had to be redesigned to add the UK pricing
details, still has the American spelling of "color".
And it is also a shame this book wasn't available at the same
time as the movie was released. The fact that this was launched
almost a month after the movie's official UK release is sure
                    to dent the sales figures.
                  An
almost perfect release that fans will treasure as a wonderful
                    memento of a fantastic film.
