The
Grace children are currently living in their Great Aunt's
ramshackle mansion and have discovered their Great Uncle's
book Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastic
World Around You. This old manuscript describes how to
identify faeries, goblins and other magical creatures living
in the same world as you and me. And just as the Grace children
had expected all along - these creatures are everywhere and
many of them aren't very nice...

Seeing Stone is the second in the six-part series: The
Spiderwick Chronicles. This volume sees the Grace children
being given a lens of stone by one of their new tiny friends.
This allows them to see the nasty goblins who are up to no
good.

with the first book, The Seeing Stone is engaging from
the start - there certainly isn't time for a young child's
mind to wander. This is also the perfect book to read to children
at bedtime - it will certainly get them to rush up to bed
each night to hear what happens next.

this will make you realise that there are still writers, illustrators
and publishers who give a damn.
