Individually they are: Reed Richards, aka the super elastic
Mr Fantastic; Sue Storm, the forcefield wielding Invisible
Woman; Johnny Storm, the hot-headed Human Torch; and Ben Grimm,
the rock hard lump of bad attitude known as The Thing. Together,
they're the Fantastic Four, and they're here to battle the
metallic madman known as Dr. Doom! If they can stop arguing
amongst themselves for a moment, that is...
                  Fantastic
4: The Making of the Movie is
an odd beast. It's part script book, part look behind the
scenes and part souvenir arty big picture book. It's also
the work of more than one author - which, if handled incorrectly
could have been a bit of a fractured mess. Thankfully, whoever
was responsible for the editing made sure that this book speaks
                    with one voice.
                  Whatever
else you say about this book, you can't say it isn't beautifully
illustrated. This release is packed to bursting with gigantic
colour images from the movie, behind the scenes shots and
production designs. And on the textual content, it's full
of interviews with the cast and crew as well as little bits
of inside information on the movie's special effects. And,
for those that are interested there is a huge section that
                    reprints the movie's original script.
                  This
is indeed a fantastic release, and one that fans of the movie
will cherish. As official companions go, you are going to
be hard pressed to get anything as well thought out and beautifully
                    presented as this little beauty.
