Funny, scary, pithy, profound, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
has delighted its legions of fans over seven seasons with
its quick fire dialogue and offbeat insight into the human
-and non human condition. Now for all lovers of Buffy's
wicked wordplay comes an exhaustive collection of the sharpest,
most telling and often poignant quotes from the Emmy nominated
                    show...
                  Categorised
by character and subject and fully illustrated in both black
and white and colour, this crucial compendium of wit and wisdom
is a book which will be referred to again and again.
                  It's
not the kind of book that you can sit and read through from
front to back in one sitting, but that doesn't make it a bad
book. The Quotable Slayer is a fun book full of quotes
from the Buffster herself, as well as the Scooby gang, the
                    Big Bads and more.
                  It's
great to flick through, and if you're in the mood to just
pick it up and have a look, you're pretty sure to find something
that'll make you laugh or that you had forgotten was in an
excellent episode from the show. It'll probably have you getting
your DVDs and Videos out to watch some of the episodes you
haven't seen in a long time.

The intro explains the impact that the show had over the years,
                    and it's not wrong:

                    It
can be argued that Buffy the Vampire Slayer will
go down in pop-culture history as a television show that
subverted conventions, crossed genres and redefined gender
roles, raising the bar for the next wave of programming.
Though the titles suggests an easily dismissed concept,
those who tuned in were instantly drawn to rich, complex
characters, an organic mythology and some of the sharpest,
savviest and most unique TV writing around. The fabrication
of new words, the reappropriation of existing ones, and
a complete disregard for conventional usage are hallmarks
of Buffy, and the show's eminently quotable language
has spawned a cult following fluent in Buffy-speak.

                  This
little book is sure to become an indisputable reference for
the true Buffy-phile, and likely to find it's way on
                    to many a shelf.
