Banished to the realm of dreams, the Night Terror stalks its
victims as they sleep. By replacing another's soul with its
own, the demon can assume anyone's physical body and wreak
havoc in the real world. But the effect is short-lived. Human
bodies soon break down under the tremendous stress of the
transfer, and the Night Terror is forced to find a new body
to inhabit. That is, until it discovers Buffy's secret and
imagines the Slayer would make an ideal - and permanent -
                    host...
                  Night
                    Terrors is
another outstanding addition to the Stake Your Destiny
                    range of Buffy books.
                  When
Cordelia's friend, Simone, suddenly starts acting weird, Cordelia
thinks enough of it to mention it to Buffy. But, because that
weirdness revolves around Simone's inability to remember an
Italian designer, Buffy ignores Cordelia's ravings. But when
Buffy saves Simone from two vampires her words of thanks are
not what Buffy expected: "Slayer, I'm coming for you
                    next." The
Scooby gang soon discover that Simone is possessed by an entity
that has focussed on it's next goal - Buffy.
                  As
usual, you get the chance to put everything back to normal
as you make the decisions as to what actions to undertake
as the Slayer. I was impressed that this release had a lot
more sections where you were given one of three options to
                    choose from.
                  Alice
Henderson has also managed to get all the characters down
on paper perfectly. As you read, you can easily imagine each
character voicing their dialogue - not an easy skill to master.
                  My
one small complaint is that the author assumes that all readers
are as up to speed with the Buffyverse as she is. If you don't
know who Ethan is, then you might be a little confused as
to why he's popped up and why everyone is so suspicious of
him. While everyone knows who Angel, Giles and Cordelia are
(or they should do) not everyone is going to be familiar with
Ethan. A few lines of explanation as to who he was could have
                    easily fixed this problem.
                  If
you are a Buffy fan, and have enjoyed this series,
then you'll love Night Terrors. This is one of the
                    best releases to date.
