There's a transporter malfunction and Kirk and McCoy go
missing. So Spock sends out a rescue team which also disappears.
Is it any wonder the poor doctor doesn't like have his atoms
spread across the universe?...
In
an age of transporters it never ceases to amaze me when characters
are given lines like: "They vanished into thin air!" Yeah,
right, and your point is? Isn't that what transports do so
why is anyone surprised that people can snap out of sight?
It's
not that Present Tense is badly written, it's actually
a very competent effort, it's more why? There are more plot
devices than vanishing landing teams so why go and rake over
some very tepid coals?
Dull,
pointless and 250 pages... and there are two more books in
the series to go.
