                    Dark
days are drawing near for the new Republic. The Yuuzhan Vong,
despite sustaining heavy casualties, continue to pursue the
Jedi. Anakin Solo leads a Jedi strike force into the heart
of enemy territory where it is hoped a new anti-Jedi weapon
                    will be discovered and destroyed...
                  Set
25 years after Return of the Jedi, Star by Star
carries on the New Jedi Order series at a cracking pace. Written
by Troy Denning the author of the New York Times bestseller
Waterdeep (under the pseudonym Richard Awlinson) this
novel comes in at just under 600 pages of pure delight.
                  From
the openings of the novel onboard the Jade Shadow to its conclusion
onboard the Millennium Falcon fans will be riveted as Denning
weaves his magic. This series was originally scheduled to
run for five years (spanning 22 books) this series could -
and should - run and run.
                  The
scene with the Alema was one of my favorites - possibly because
I was in the middle of eating a bowl of porridge at the time.
                  This
is a gem of a novel - not just for completist fans. There
is even a character list and Star Wars history for
those that have not been following the series that closely.
                  Not
just a great Star Wars novel, but a damn fine book
                    by any standards.
