Having finally acquired the sacred weapons and approval he
needed from the three other kings of Tir-Nan-Og, Slaine ascends
to the position of High King - to immediately face his greatest
threat, an army of Drunes, Sea Demons and other foul creatures.
Now, as High King, he must also lead his people away from
the darkness and mystery of their old religions, back to a
oneness with nature... not that he won't be breaking a few
                    heads along the way...
                  Slaine:
The Horned God - Part Two sees
                    2000AD's
popular Celtic hero return with a vengeance.
                  Simon
Bisley's artwork is as sick and twisted as usual - what did
you expect. And Titan have done a great job reprinting his
                    work in full colour.
                  This
collection also sets the scene up for the reader - refreshing
their memory on the events which have already been told. I,
for one, was glad of this as I was a little rusty on what
                    had gone before.
                  Slaine
is one of those characters that took time to grow on me. I
must admit that I used to skip his pages in 2000AD,
but have become more fond of him as I have grown older. Though
funny, beautifully illustrated and almost spot on with the
writing, The Horned God - Part Two has something missing
                    - and I can't quite put my finger on it.
                  For
some reason I still don't enjoy reading about Slaine
as much as I do about Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper
or many of the other classic 2000AD characters.
