A 'haunted house' ride takes on added realism when a real body turns up inside. However, the apparent suicide soon becomes a homicide investigation for the laser-sharp minds of the CSI team, who find their resources stretched latex thin when they also have to contend with a wave of increasingly violent armed robberies.
..

Okay, before I start can I just state, for the record, that whoever wrote the above synopsis (which appears on the back of this collection) obviously didn't read this graphic novel, never talked to anyone who was involved with it, or bother to get their description checked by anyone who was involved with it. Firstly, there is no 'haunted house' ride, it's a youth theatre style group where the kids put on an elaborate show that contains a whole series of horrific scenes - designed to shock kids into keeping away from drugs, alcohol and other dangerous areas that teenagers like to experiment with.

And secondly, there is never a question of suicide. It just appears to be a tragic accident where one of the performers kills another when his gun, filled with blanks, does the same damage as a gun loaded with live ammunition would do.

Now that I've got that little moan out of the way, Demon House is the third CSI collection to be released by Titan Publishing. Sadly the likenesses of the cast are still very much miss and near miss, but to be quite honest that isn't so much of an issue with this volume. This time around the CSI team play much more of a back seat. It is the forensic evidence that is the star of this collection and it works really well too.

Another point worth making is that, on the whole (there are a few very noticeable exceptions though) the dialogue is very believable and you can almost close your eyes and hear your favourite CSI characters speaking the lines.

Not a bad addition to the stable, and certainly one that CSI fans will enjoy.
