John Constantine - the incorrigible trench coat-clad anti-hero - hunts down a mad demon that has left a trail of bodies stretching for London to Los Angeles. And to have a prayer of defeating this ruthless enemy, Constantine must forge alliances with monsters every bit as terrible as the one's he's pursuing...

All His Engines sees Constantine up against a worldwide plague that is putting millions into comas. When one of his closest friend's granddaughter falls victim to the disease, Constantine steps in with the cure. However, in scratching the surface he finds a mad demon in a body woven out of cancer cells, and a plot to build franchised Hells in the cities of men. To rescue a single innocent child from the clutches of evil John has to face temptations he never imagined as well as forging alliances with monsters every bit as terrible as the ones they are fighting.

This story has a lot going for it. The plot keeps you guessing until the end - will Constantine be able to free the young girl? Or will she be imprisoned for ever? Okay, while it's pretty obvious that Constantine always manages to win through in the end, this collection will still keep you on your toes.

Not only is All His Engines a damn fine tale, but the reproduction job that has been lavished on this graphic novel is also something to behold. Firstly this hardback edition has some of the best quality paper stock you are likely to see in a graphic novel release - nice thick glossy pages are always a welcome sight. And underneath the dust-jacket is an impressive leather-bound style hardback.

If you are a Hellblazer fan, then you are not going to want to miss out on this collection.
