In the outer reaches of space a cosmic war between the New Gods has set events in motion that may change Earth and the entire universe forever. Can the JLA members come to terms with their latest recruit - the newly-discovered Man of Steel - as a sprawling adventure unfolds? This time, the battle will take our heroes to other worlds, other dimensions, other eras, and even the mystical realms that lead to hell itself...

Another Nail follows on from the events that unfolded in the JLA collection The Nail. In that book fans discovered a world without a Superman. A world where one tiny accident cascaded into a series of cataclysmic disasters.

To fill you in on the last collection... Martha and Jonathan Kent's truck gets a flat tire thanks to a nail. This problem prevents them from going into town and, as a consequence, means that they stay at home and never see Superman's space craft crash-land on earth. The child that would grow to become Superman remains undiscovered - which sets in motion a whole heap of events that change the JLA universe as we know it. Eventually a local Amish family reveal their Kal-El to the world.

The world that Alan Davis creates is not only well thought out, but the art work is also a marked improvement on the usual JLA tales. Partly this is due to the fact that this collection is reprinted on glossy paper, which helps to bring the characters to life, but it is also down to the fact that the colours are so vibrant.

If there is anything to complain about, it's the fact that Davis tries to cram too much into too few pages - this could easily have been a third longer and it wouldn't have felt stretched.

This is a must own collection for JLA fans.
