It's a mystery in space as Superman, The Suicide Squad, and

Volume
2 of
DC: The New Frontier is
not quite as entertaining as the events that unfolded in Volume
1. To
be honest, I have to admit that I had a bit of a problem focusing
on this collection.
It's
not that it's heavy going, just that I didn't feel anything
for the characters (unlike Volume 1). However, once
I'd read it through once - and was a little lost - I decided
to read it over again. This certainly helped to get things
in order and the result was a satisfying read. However, how
many people will want to read this again - if they've managed
to struggle through it the first time - is debatable.
The
art work is well above average. And the repro job is better
than most of the graphic novels currently on the market.
This
is certainly not a book for comic readers who are not familiar
with Green Lantern, The Flash or Martian Manhunter - there's
just too much going on to anchor a new reader into this universe.
But if you are up to speed on these characters then you'll
probably find this a blast.
