Angel searches an abandoned amusement park to rescue a small girl from a gang of kidnappers. But these aren't the only things he must contend with. He must first contend with an army of demonic rats and it is here that we discover why he has such a dislike of the vermin. In the second short story Angel has to help solve a series death which seem to be by spontaneous combustion...

Autumnal comprises two short stories from the Angel comic one-shots. The first story - Vermin, is an OK read although a little on the cheesy side. But there is some good artwork, with a cover design by Mike Mignola, the artist behind Hellboy.

Little Girl Lost is the second and most interesting story telling of a young girl who burns people alive with her touch. Angel is sent to save her, but how can he stop her from killing everyone she gets close to, and how is her spellcasting stepfather involved? This is a good story from renowned Buffy novelist Golden, and definitely worth a read.

Perhaps not worth a whole £8.99 for its size, Autumnal is worth checking out if you are an Angel nut.
