After losing her boyfriend in a car crash, Cassie begins
to rebuild her life at college with the help of her best friend
Annabel, but ghosts of the past come back to haunt her sucking
her into a world where fantasy and reality meet...
Soul
Survivors starts
promisingly but never really managed to take off as it should
do. I may have watched too many horror movies of this type,
but I had pretty much worked out what was going on after about
20 minutes. Scary men with plastic masks and a dead boyfriend
are the two main crutches this movie relies on.
Buffy
the Vampire Slayer's Faith (Eliza Dushku) seems to be
playing another gothic chick with an attitude problem, but
the sad thing is that I really couldn't bring myself to care
for the characters - they just seemed shallow individuals
who deserved what was coming to them.
The
one saving grace in the whole movie was the wonderful original
score by Daniel Licht which help to give the whole movie more
credibility and the music at the finale is inspired.
While
this is not a terrible movie, it is one that you need to be
in the right mood to view. It is a little hard going on the
eyes, with loads of wierd camera angles which grow wierder
as the movie draws to its conclusion.
Not
that scary, just wierd.
