On a winding desert highway eight travelers bear witness
to a car accident. Before the driver dies he tells them that
a small fortune is hidden in a park over 200 miles away under
a "big W". The race is on to be the first to find
the money...
It's
a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
is a classic slapstick comedy movie bringing together what
at the time were some of the hottest talent in Hollywood (including
Spencer Tracey, Ethel Merman, Mickey Rooney, Terry Thomas
and Phil Silvers). There are also some excellent 'blink and
you'll miss 'em' appearances from Buster Keaton and the 3
Stooges.
Coming
in at around 2.5 hours of mayhem the production never stops
for a second. Although the original intermission has been
left in which is basically three minutes of music and a blank
screen.
The
stunts are impressive, the comedic timing is spot on and never,
for one minute, will your mind start to wander.
This
is a classic that should be in everyone's personal collection.
