Goodbye high school, hello college. Buffy and the gang leave
home behind them, albeit not very far, and set up a new life
as students. But things are never what they seem in Sunnydale,
what with it being built on a Hellmouth. However,
there's more going on than the usual round of vampires and
demons. Something strange is taking place underground, something
military - the Initiative. But what role does Buffy's new
boyfriends, Riley, play in all this and can he really be trusted?
Worse still, the Initiative's experiments with demon body
parts is turning out to be a disaster...
Buffy
season four is a uniformly good collection of episodes, although
Hush is a really standout, but the climax with Adam,
the part human, part demon monster is a little weak. However,
there's plenty of fun to be had at the expense of Xander's
new relationship. And then there's Willow's 'change'...
These
discs contain widescreen-formatted episodes which generally
boast pretty good picture quality - albeit a little soft because
of being edited on US video - and clear sound. The extras
are okay-ish but that's not what this box set is all about.
Buffy still rocks. but now she's doing it in a more adult
way.
