The
unlucky in love Morse thinks for a fleeting moment that things
may be different when he meets the beautiful Anne Staveley
(Gemma Jones) but it is a love destined not to be when she
is found hanging from a beam in mysterious circumstances.
Lewis, placed under Morse's wing, quickly learns the Inspectors
unorthodox ways and the pair set out to uncover the truth
behind Anne's death...
The
Dead of Jerico is written by Oscar Winning Anthony Minghella
and adapted for television from the book of the same name.
This,
their first investigation firmly establishes Morse and Lewis
as a winning team and is the start of a long and lasting partnership.
An intense debut episode, gripping from the outset. An added
bonus for Doctor Who fans is that Patrick Troughton
guest stars in this episode.
If
you haven't already been following Morse on TV, this is definitely
one to get you hooked.
Nicholas
Quinn is a partially deaf member of the examination syndicate
board until he is found dead at his home, having stumbled
upon a scheme to sell examination questions to the Middle
East. Could
romance be on the cards once again for Morse? He becomes increasingly
attracted to Monica (Barbara Flynn) but as he further investigates,
he begins to suspect that she too may be involved...
The
Silent World of Nicholas Quinn sees two murders and a
nasty case of bribery and corruption. Morse soon comes to
the conclusion that it is all a question of logic and once
again Morse's Law prevails.
An
accurate adaptation of the novel of the same name although
it appears a bit slow in places, but plenty of deduction is
required to work out who did it and more importantly, how.
The
DVD also includes a 20 photo production gallery - nothing
flash, but what else did you want for £15? Blood?
