Another collection of Simpsons episodes for those who
don't want to shell out for the box sets. This volume includes
the episodes Homerpalooza, A Tale of Two Springfields,
Homer's Barber Shop Quartet and The Otto Show.
This
time around the episodes are all music based. In Homerpalooza
Homer hits a mid-life crisis and, worried he is out of touch
with the times, he purchases tickets to the Hullabalooza music
festival and ends up touring with the bands.
A
Tale of Two Springfields sees Homer on a mission to divide
his home town in two. As designated Mayor of West Springfield,
Homer wages war on the East. However, when The Who
is scheduled to play in East Springfield, Homer takes it upon
himself to lend the band his side of town.
Homer's
Barber Shop Quartet sees Bart and Lisa discover an old
'Meet the Be Sharps' album with a picture of Homer on the
front cover. Homer tells them how he, Principal Skinner, Apu
and Barney formed the Barber Shop Quartet years earlier. With
a record in the charts, success looked guaranteed for the
Fab Four!
The
Otto Show sees Bart dreaming of becoming a heavy metal
rocker after going to a Spinal Tap concert. As an encouragement,
Homer and Marge buy a guitar for Bart. Otto demonstrates his
ability on Bart's guitar, causing the school bus to run late.
Upon losing his job, Otto is forced to move in with the Simpsons.
This
is a pretty fine collection of episodes but personally I would
be tempted to avoid this and simply purchase the box sets
as they are released. But if you can't wait for your Simpsons
fix then this is worth getting your hands on.
There
is also a video montage of Otto's finest moments which is
fun but nothing special.
