The season two box set of The Simpsons contains yet
another barrage of episodes of the cult TV series. The animation
has improved dramatically over season one and it is probably
most notable that
this is the season in which Dan Castellaneta decided to change
Homer's voice to something that, for him, was a lot easier
on the vocal cords. A move that gave us the slightly camp
Homer we all know and love today.
This
season gave birth to some of the shows classic episode (constantly
repeated by the BBC) including: Bart Gets An F, Dancin'
Homer, One Fish Two Fish Blowfish Blue Fish, Bart's Dog Gets
an F and The War of the Simpsons.
The
mere fact that season two is available on DVD makes it an
essential purchase and add to that the bargain retail price
of just under £40 and Fox have ensured that these DVDs
will just fly off the shelves. But wait! You want more? Well
Fox, never one to disappoint, have added a whole heap of extras.
With
this box set you get commentaries on every episode, an interview
with creators James L. Brooks and Matt Groening. A director's
cut version of the Do The Bartman and Deep Deep
Trouble music videos (both include optional commentary).
There is also an extra that walks you through how an episode
of The Simpsons is created.
There
is also a heap of smaller extras including foreign clips,
and hidden easter eggs - more than enough to keep even the
most hardened Simpsons fan amused.
If
you are after pure entertainment or you just fancy laughing
your socks off, then this is a must buy.
