The case for the Lovers Lane Killer is shut when the accused
is murdered in a prison fight, before his trial. Another murder
occurs and it is now up to Morse to track the killer down...
The
Way Through the Woods was originally screened on television
as a special episode. In this Morse outing we see more
than our fair share of the tension that exists between Morse
and Lewis over the identity of the Lovers Lane Killer.
A
good, solid plot holds this episode together as the acting
tends to wane a little towards the end. We also get to see
a glance of Colin Dexter in the opening scene as he plays
the man at the concert with Morse.
Not
one of my favourites but still a good episode.
Morse
and Lewis are plunged back into the heart of Oxford's academic
world when a retired university member, Dr Felix McClure is
stabbed to death. What appears as a routine investigation
soon becomes far more complex...
The
Daughters of Cain
is an excellent episode and definitely one of my favourites.
A very well executed plot and the case really starts to pick
up when Morse discovers that the dead professor, a suicidal
student and his college room mate, are all in love with the
same woman.
Poor
old Lewis is still awaiting his promotion and Colin Dexter
makes another brief appearance as the man on crutches in the
John Ratcliffe Hospital waiting room.
