Waking up on his very first morning, Fluke - a new-born puppy
- discovers a wondrous world of excitement and fun. But when
recurring dreams and a series of mishaps trigger memories
of a very different world, he slowly realises that he once
had a very different life - as a man! Convinced of his previous
identity, Fluke sets out on an extraordinary journey that
leads him back to his human family and shows him more through
the eyes of a dog than he could see as a man...
I
have to admit I was a little apprehensive about watching this
movie. It looked a little too cute from the trailer, and to
some extent it is. But Fluke is one of those family
movies that delivers more than is expected.
The
stars of this movie are the animals - the humans hardly get
a look in - Samuel L Jackson makes a vocal appearance as Fluke's
doggy mate, while the human cast are simply there to provide
support characters for the main star - the mutt.
Yes
there are tons of dreadful scenes, bad dialogue and over the
top touchy feely moments, but there is a very welcomed surprise
twist at the movies conclusion that made me smile and almost,
but not quite, forgive this movie its many flaws.
No
extras on this disc apart from the movie trailer,
which is a little on the misleading side - showing Nancy Travis'
character realising that - Fluke used to be her husband in
a previous life and trying to make contact with him.
One
for the kids, which the grownups should just about be able
to stomach.
