A group of four Vermont state troopers enjoy the easy life
at work, but when the force is affected by budget cuts the
boys find themselves having to uphold the law to prove their
worth...
Super
Troopers stars
US comedy troupe Broken Lizard. Now, I may be out of touch,
but I had never heard of Broken Lizard and after watching
this movie I really hope I never do again. Puerile, childish,
pathetic and unfunny are some of the words that I'd use to
describe the gags in this movie.
A
little like a really bad (was there a good one?) Police
Academy movie, but without the sophistication, Super
Troopers limps from scene to scene like a lame duck.
The
only half decent thing about this release is that there are
plenty of extras for those who really liked the movie. These
include two additional commentaries (with subtitles) and loads
of deleted scenes. One nice touch here was that to show the
audience what was new in the deleted scenes the producers
of the DVD have printed the scenes from the film in black
and white and the extra footage in colour.
Sadly
though, this movie is just not funny. If it had been released
10-15 years ago then it might have made an impact. Shame this
has received a 15 rating as anyone over the age of fourteen
will find it extremely immature.
In
fact the funniest thing about this DVD is that the last two
digits of its catalogue number are 6 and 9. Arf! Arf! 69!
Get it? And if you found that funny you might smile at the
movie.
Not
a super release at all.
